Pre-cut film may look slightly shorter before installation. This is normal on curved surfaces because the material may need gentle stretching.
Slip Solution: distilled water + 2–4 drops of baby shampoo. This helps the film slide into position.
Tack Solution: 90% distilled water + 10% IPA. This helps the adhesive grab when you need to lock an edge or curved area.
1
Remove dirt, road film, wax, insects, and other contamination from the installation surface.
2
Use a clean microfiber towel. Do not use dirty towels or abrasive cloths.
3
If the surface feels rough, use a clay bar with lubricant to remove bonded contamination.
4
Wipe with diluted IPA and dry again. Pay special attention to corners, edges, and wrap areas.
1
Spray the installation surface with slip solution before placing the film.
2
Spray the adhesive side while peeling the liner to prevent dust and premature sticking.
3
Place the film gently on the surface and align it with the edges and landmarks.
4
Use overlapping strokes to push water and air bubbles toward the edges. Apply firm but controlled pressure.
Curved areas may create small “fingers” or tension marks. Warm the film gently with steam or warm water, stretch lightly, and squeegee sideways toward the edge.
| Problem | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| Film moves too much | Use less slip solution or apply a small amount of tack solution at the edge. |
| Edge will not stick | Clean and dry the edge, use tack solution, then squeegee again. |
| Small fingers or wrinkles | Warm gently if needed, stretch lightly, and squeegee sideways toward the edge. |
| Dust under film | Lift carefully while wet, rinse the adhesive side with slip solution, then reinstall. |
| Tiny moisture bubbles | Many small moisture bubbles dry during curing. Do not puncture unless necessary and only with proper technique. |
