Important: Professional installation is recommended for best results. DIY installation is possible, but it requires patience, a clean surface, and correct wet application technique.

1. Before You Start

Installation Conditions

  • Work indoors or in the shade.
  • Recommended temperature: approximately 18–28°C.
  • Keep the work area clean and dust-free.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, wind, and very cold surfaces.

What Is Inside the Kit

  • Pre-cut PPF piece(s)
  • Squeegee / scraper
  • Small spray bottle
  • Installation guide / QR video guide

Pre-cut film may look slightly shorter before installation. This is normal on curved surfaces because the material may need gentle stretching.

2. Tools & Solutions

Recommended Supplies

  • Distilled water
  • 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
  • Baby shampoo or neutral slip soap
  • Two clean spray bottles
  • Microfiber towels
  • Optional: steamer for complex curves

Solution Mixing Guide

Slip Solution: distilled water + 2–4 drops of baby shampoo. This helps the film slide into position.

Tack Solution: 90% distilled water + 10% IPA. This helps the adhesive grab when you need to lock an edge or curved area.

3. Surface Preparation

1

Wash the Area

Remove dirt, road film, wax, insects, and other contamination from the installation surface.

2

Dry with Microfiber

Use a clean microfiber towel. Do not use dirty towels or abrasive cloths.

3

Decontaminate if Needed

If the surface feels rough, use a clay bar with lubricant to remove bonded contamination.

4

Final Wipe

Wipe with diluted IPA and dry again. Pay special attention to corners, edges, and wrap areas.

4. Applying the Film

1

Wet the Surface

Spray the installation surface with slip solution before placing the film.

2

Remove the Liner Carefully

Spray the adhesive side while peeling the liner to prevent dust and premature sticking.

3

Position the Film

Place the film gently on the surface and align it with the edges and landmarks.

4

Squeegee from Center Outward

Use overlapping strokes to push water and air bubbles toward the edges. Apply firm but controlled pressure.

5. Stretching, Heat & Edges

Curved areas may create small “fingers” or tension marks. Warm the film gently with steam or warm water, stretch lightly, and squeegee sideways toward the edge.

  • Do not overstretch the film.
  • Do not overheat the film.
  • Keep the heat source moving at all times.
  • Use tack solution only where the adhesive needs to lock in place.
Avoid aggressive heat. A steamer is preferred for controlled warming. Excessive heat may damage the film or the vehicle surface.

6. Finishing & Aftercare

Final Check

  • Check for bubbles, trapped water, or unsealed edges.
  • For wrapped edges, allow extra drying time before pressing them firmly.
  • Tiny moisture bubbles often disappear during curing.

Curing & Care

  • Keep the vehicle dry for at least 48–72 hours.
  • Avoid washing or waxing the area for about 7 days.
  • Clean later with mild car wash soap and microfiber towels.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Solution
Film moves too muchUse less slip solution or apply a small amount of tack solution at the edge.
Edge will not stickClean and dry the edge, use tack solution, then squeegee again.
Small fingers or wrinklesWarm gently if needed, stretch lightly, and squeegee sideways toward the edge.
Dust under filmLift carefully while wet, rinse the adhesive side with slip solution, then reinstall.
Tiny moisture bubblesMany small moisture bubbles dry during curing. Do not puncture unless necessary and only with proper technique.

8. Removing PPF

  • Warm the film gently with steam or controlled heat.
  • Peel slowly at a low angle while warming the area.
  • Work in small sections and avoid tearing the film.
  • Remove adhesive residue with a safe automotive adhesive remover or diluted IPA.
  • Inspect and clean the surface after removal.
